Trademarks and names
“Studio Ghibli”, the names of the films, and the names of the museum and the park are the trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners. They are used on this site only descriptively — to identify and discuss the works and places being written about, which is a nominative use. No claim of ownership is made and no association is implied.
Why there is no film artwork here
Every illustration on this site — the landscape in the header, the icons, the cel diagrams, the small marks in the margins — was drawn as original vector artwork for this site. You will not find film stills, character designs, production art, posters or logos anywhere on it.
That is deliberate, for two reasons. First, those images are somebody's copyrighted work, and a fan site is not a good enough reason to use them without permission. Second, this site carries advertising, which makes it a commercial publication in the eyes of most licensing terms, and the honest response to that is to draw my own pictures rather than argue about fair use.
Quotations
Where a filmmaker's view is described, it is paraphrased in my own words and attributed. Where an idea is well known but I cannot verify an exact wording, the text says so rather than inventing a quotation. If you find a passage on this site that reproduces someone else's writing too closely, that is an error — report it and it will be rewritten.
Practical information
Details about visiting the museum or the park — how admission works, what is currently on show, how to get there — are summarised from official sources at the time of writing and change without warning. Always check the official website of the place you are visiting. Nothing here is a substitute for it, and no ticket, reservation or booking of any kind can be made through this site.
Rights holders
